New years started off with a bang. We decided to stay home this year and party at our house. The night went pretty well and I believe everyone had a great time. When I get home from Casper I will get what pictures were taken posted.
With the new year comes new resolutions. This year I need to stick to mine and actually follow through with them. As some of you may know I am diabetic and to this point I can't say I have done real well in monitoring/taking care of my sugars. I got on meds and that put my blood sugar in check. Well lately I have not been able to get my blood sugar back down to a normal level and that could be due to my body fighting a virus/cold. So I talked to the doc and he gave me 3-4 days to get it back to normal and if not then we are going to adjust my meds. The hard part about all this is that I am in Casper, WY doing some work, so if my doc wants to see me it will not happen till I get back in about 3 weeks.
I am not going to lie...I am scared as hell. So I am going to start by eating healthy...exercising when I can find a plan that does not involve weights since I am traveling at the moment and we stay in sub-par hotels/motels. So I will take all the help anyone can give and all the information people can give.
So here is to a new year, a new beginning and great results!
As far as an exercise program goes, you really dont need weights. What will work best is a mild aerobics program. You will burn the calories you need to and trim up where a lifting program will increase body mass without really helping your cardio while not clearing your system the way an aerobics program will. I would suggest (without being an expert) a 5 minute stretch, 15 minutes jogging in place, 10 minutes of crunches (as many as you can do in 10 minutes), then take a cool-down walk around the block. All of this can be done while staying in a crap-hole motel and shouldn't take more than 45 minutes start to finish, so can fit in almost any schedule. Just make sure to have a water bottle handy so you stay hydrated. Just my humble suggestion.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev. That is the hardest part is not being near a gym, but I never thought about jogging in place. I think the hardest part for me is keeping focused. I will give this a try while I am out of town these next few weeks.
ReplyDeletei like Kevin's idea but also just a suggestion maybe running in place for so long can get tiresome and boring and thats the last thing you wanna do is get bored, but you should mix it up like jog for 1 min then do like 5 push-ups then jog then crunches and so on hope this helps good luck bro
